There’s a reason why we love both surf and yoga so much. They go hand in hand. Yoga allows you to challenge your body and mind, while also creating space and peace. It prepares you mentally & physically for the movements involved in surfing, as well as contributes to recovery post-surf. Surfing, too, is a balance of hard work and ease.
There’s something so magical and humbling about being immersed in nature while sitting on a surfboard (especially when the water is 80+ degrees!). These together are our definition of bliss.

Playa Gigante is a charming, tropical fishing village that sits along the beautiful Emerald Coast of Southern Nicaragua. The vibrant, friendly, local community creates the chance to immerse in the culture + expand perspectives through travel. Our hotel is the perfect private oasis in the heart of the community, directly across the street from the beach + just a 10 min walk to surf.
Nicaragua is home to so many world-class waves, and many are within easy access from our beachside hotel along the Southern Pacific coastline. We have great options available by foot, car, or boat!
Playa Gigante specifically gives you easy access to both the waves within walking distance, as well as the waves accessed from a panga ride. We partner with a local family for shaded panga boat rides, and pro surf guides to get to the best waves.
We will be staying in Playa Gigante with Room To Roam. Room to Roam believes in the magic of travel + connecting to new people, places, and adventures. Our hotel is the perfect private oasis in the heart of the community, directly across the street from the beach + just a 10 min walk to surf.
Your beachside boutique hotel room will consist of either one queen bed or two single beds with comfortable high-quality mattresses. All rooms are equipped with A/C, Hot Water, and WiFi. Shower and pool towels are provided as well.

Playa Gigante Weather & Getting There
Nicaragua daily temps stay pretty consistent year round with the low-high range between 73 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. During the “wet” season between May – October there are tropical rains and weather that is typically light and does not last long, just on and off throughout the day. The ocean temperatures are typically around 80-85 degrees, though there are times when the water can feel a little chilly and you will want a rash guard, wetsuit jacket or vest.
You may choose to fly into either the capital of Nicaragua, Managua (MGA), or Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR).
Managua is a smaller airport that is simple to navigate after landing and getting through customs. Once you get into the private shuttle, just kick back and enjoy the drive to the Southern beaches of Nicaragua (approx 2-2.5 hours depending on traffic).
Flying into Liberia (LIR) is super easy and smooth and just requires following a few specific steps. Once your flight lands, we have a professional shuttle service pick you up directly from the airport. From there, enjoy a beautiful 1.5 hour drive through Costa Rica to the Nicaraguan border.
Once you arrive at the border, we have a guide that helps you through the border crossing process and helps with your baggage. As you walk to exit to the Nicaragua side, you will see another driver with a Room to Roam sign all ready to receive you and get you directly to us.
From here it is approximately 1.25 hours drive in the beauty of the Nicaraguan tropical countryside until you arrive at our beachside retreat hotel. Leave your cares behind, enjoy the journey of being a world traveler, and trust that we will get you where you need to go.

These details are meant to inform & prepare you, but at the end of the day - you’re on vacation! Your retreat hosts and staff will handle all transportation details to ensure your safe arrival at our retreat center.

Double occupancy- $2,359
Single occupancy- $2,659
* Traveling alone? Great! Retreats are an amazing way to meet new people & create new friendships. We will do our best to place you in a double room if requested, but if unavailable the single occupancy rate will apply.

Cancellation and refund policy:
The $500 deposit will be non-refundable and secures your spot on this trip. Full retreat payments are due no later than 60 days
before the retreat. If you need to cancel before the 60 day window, you will be refunded your trip payment, excluding the
$500 deposit. If you cancel in less than 60 days, no refunds will be issued. In the event the trip needs to be canceled for unforeseen circumstances by your trip organizers (Jess & Natalie), your deposit or trip payment will be fully refunded. We highly recommend travel insurance.
